Saffron is a 14-year-old retired therapy dog who loves to swim, hike, and spend quality time with her person, Dorothy. After visiting with Saffron and Dorothy in their hometown, one thing became immediately clear: their bond is something truly special.
Saffron is a longtime ElleVet customer who has spent her life not only adventuring alongside Dorothy, but also comforting others through years of therapy work in her community. She passed her Canine Good Citizen test at just one year old and a year later, completed the rigorous behavioral evaluations required to begin therapy work in hospitals and community settings.
Over the years, Saffron has comforted children undergoing cancer treatment, visited medical students before exams, and supported her community during local disaster relief efforts. Together, Dorothy and Saffron have also visited schools to help teach children about pet safety and education.
Beyond all of her important work as a therapy dog, Saffron also has plenty of personality. She is a beloved member of her community and is especially treasured by the children in her neighborhood. As Dorothy proudly shares, “Saffron knows her colors and can do a fist bump. She is a once-in-a-lifetime-dog. She is really amazing.”
We think Saffron is pretty amazing, too.
