Dr. Kevin Roose opened Roose Animal Hospital on Valentine’s Day in 1991, and the practice has been serving a variety of animals in the heart of the Plymouth, MI area ever since. Roose Animal Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services to dogs, cats, and exotic pets – including small mammals, birds, and reptiles! Their caring and compassionate staff provides exceptional care, from their patient’s first checkup to the precious golden years.
We recently caught up with the team at Roose Animal Hospital to learn more about day-to-day life at their practice.
How long has your clinic been in business? How did your clinic get started?
Dr. Roose founded Roose Animal Hospital on February 14th, 1991.
What makes your clinic special?
Roose Animal Hospital takes pride in advocating for those without a voice. We enjoy working with a wide variety of patients including dogs, cats, and exotic pets.
What makes your team unique?
Our staff consists of many tenured staff members that are focused on teaching the next generation of veterinary professionals. Currently, we have multiple staff enrolled in Technician school and more interested in starting soon. Our staff culture is not only supportive of career development but supportive of our staff members as individuals.
What is the most unique animal that someone’s brought into your clinic?
We have had so many unique animals over the years. We have seen a primate, wallabies, turkeys, sugar gliders, and toucans to name a few.
Do you have clinic dogs and/or cats?
Willow is one of our clinic dogs, she is a super sweet beagle. We have clients and delivery drivers that ask for her by name every time they come in.

Why do you use ElleVet for your patients?
We use ElleVet for mobility, stress, and neuro patients. Our favorite ElleVet product is the Soft Chew.
Do you have a memorable story regarding a patient using ElleVet that you would like to share?
We had a client whose Lab was unable to climb the stairs for two years, within two months of starting ElleVet was able to go up and down the stairs. The client also reported less storm reactivity when using ElleVet.
