ElleVet Clinic of the Month
Treasure Coast Animal Rehab & Fitness
Vero Beach, Florida
Treasure Coast Animal Rehab and Fitness is a wonderful veterinary practice that is exclusively dedicated to companion animal rehabilitation and senior pet care. The clinic was founded by Dr. Amber Callaway Lewis DVM, CCRT, who was inspired to fill a gap she observed after years of seeing senior and mobility challenged patients that could benefit from comprehensive care not provided in a traditional veterinary hospital.
Treasure Coast offers comprehensive rehabilitation, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, herbal therapies, therapeutic exercises, functional fitness classes and more. Their interdisciplinary team is comprised of doctors and technicians who are not only certified in rehabilitation and fitness, but also equipped with the skills to provide hospice care. With a compassionate, knowledgeable staff, Treasure Coast takes pride in providing exceptional veterinary care that improves the quality of life and happiness of their patients.
We recently caught up with the team at Treasure Coast Animal Rehab and Fitness to learn more about day-to-day life at their practice.
How long has your clinic been in business? How did your clinic get started?
Five years. Dr. Amber Callaway Lewis DVM, CCRT developed the idea for Treasure Coast Animal Rehab after years of seeing senior and mobility challenged patients that could benefit from comprehensive care not provided in a traditional veterinary hospital.
What makes your clinic special?
We are exclusively dedicated to rehabilitation and aging pet care. Our technicians are all certified in different specialties, which allows our patients to get quality care by dedicated and certified technicians who are professionals at what they do.
What makes your team unique?
We are an interdisciplinary team of doctors and technicians with specialties including rehabilitation, fitness, hospice, human animal bond, chiropractic, and aging pets. We have a unique, stellar and amazing team who make our clinic a great place to work and treat patients.
What is the most unique animal that someone’s brought into your clinic?
Since we are a rehabilitation clinic we have seen chickens, geckos, and a goat, but we mostly see dogs and cats.
If your clinic had a theme song, what would it be?
It would be a tie between One Love, by Bob Marley and Don’t Stop Believing, by Journey.
If you had to choose three words to describe your clinic, what would they be?
Good Vibes Only
Why do you use ElleVet for your patients?
Mobility and cognitive primarily. Our favorite ElleVet product is Soft Gels; they’re easy to give and have no strong odor. We also recommend the Calm & Comfort Chews.
Do you have a memorable story regarding a patient using ElleVet that you would like to share?
We have an aging golden retriever who has had joint discomfort and terrible stress. After 3 days of ElleVet soft gels she was able to relax, sit and do better quality rehabilitation than before the ElleVet.
